Pet Insurance Estimator helps US pet owners answer one question before they talk to an insurer: roughly what should insurance for my dog or cat cost, and why?
What we do
We combine public data (the pet insurance industry's own annual report, published quote data from 18 insurers, state premium data and peer-reviewed veterinary research) into a calculator and breed and state pages. Every figure links to its source, and the methodology explains exactly how the numbers are combined.
What we do not do
- We are not an insurance company, agent or broker. We do not sell insurance or give quotes.
- We do not use affiliate links and do not receive commissions or payments from insurers.
- We do not give veterinary or financial advice. Our estimates are a starting point for your own research.
How the site is funded
The site is funded by display advertising served by Google AdSense. Advertisers have no say in our content or our numbers, and ads are always labeled.
Who is behind it
The site was founded and is maintained by Raúl Vaquerizo, who built the estimator and keeps its data and methodology up to date. Read our editorial policy to see how content is researched, checked and corrected.
